The dry hillsides of sandstone & the summits of chalk/clay soil accomodate a great range of grape varieties that are able to develop their full potential. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc & Grenache are used in the production of the Côtes de Malepère wines, both red & rosé. The Chardonnay, Viognier & Muscat Petit Grain enhance a full flavoured range of single grape wines. The vineyard consists of approximately 30 hectares & the wines are produced in the ancestral cellar of the domaine. A new wine store enables the wine production to continue up to the bottling stage, which is, of course, also carried out on the domaine! rich range of winesRegularly rewarded in wine competitions, & in wine publications & guides, the Domaine Le Fort vintages aim at concentrated, aromatic & well balanced wines. 
The Domaine Le Fort élevé en fût 1998 (aged
in oak), is a well structured wine full of tannin. The main grape
is the Cabernet Sauvignon, the addition of the Merlot grape gives
a long & full flavour in the mouth & the Grenache adds fruit
& body to the wine. Notes of plum, cherry, leather & roasted
coffee assault the nose &, in the mouth, hints of blackcurrant
